nr. Island View Cabana
13th February 1986
Today, on my fortieth birthday, I went for a solitary dip in the Wang Sae waterfall pool.
Thirty years ago, Koh Phanang was the baby brother of neighbouring Koh Samui. Accommodation was basic, and the Island View provided tents for the few of us who’d taken the bumpy jeep ride through coconut groves to get round the coast to the little bay which sheltered us.
I have never needed 30,000 other souls to have a good time, so I won’t ever be going back.
At least my birthday wasn’t “inaccurated“!
